Our journey.
Materials.
Over the years, we've explored a variety of materials to craft our jackets while upholding the highest quality standards. From old sleeping bags and blankets to polo shirts and scarves—each piece we choose carries a story, deserving a second life.
At SohrehDesign, sustainability isn’t an afterthought—it’s at the core of everything we create. Our products are crafted using mono-materials or deadstock fabrics, ensuring a lower environmental impact while maintaining exceptional quality.
What Are Mono-Materials?
Mono-materials are textiles made from a single fiber type, such as pure wool or linen. Unlike blended fabrics, they are easier to recycle, reducing waste and conserving resources.
What Is Deadstock Fabric?
Deadstock fabric refers to leftover or surplus materials from textile production that would otherwise go to waste. Instead of letting these premium fabrics be discarded, we repurpose them into limited-edition collections, making every SohrehDesign jacket unique.
Identity.
Born in the dynamic rhythm of city life, Poly was designed as a versatile companion for everyday adventures. With three adaptable ways to wear it, Poly effortlessly fits your needs and style. While our core concept remains unchanged, our collection has grown to welcome Poly’s siblings: Pontiki, Elektra, Mavros, Asproula, Linoula and Kalamata — each bringing its own unique character.
A Name with Meaning
Our product names draw inspiration from the beauty of the Greek language. POLY represents versatility—a jacket that adapts to you.
As we expand our collection, we continue this tradition by incorporating Greek words and colors into our designs. Our actual pieces will be named after colors:
Mavros – Meaning black in Greek.
Aspros – Meaning white, symbolizing purity and simplicity.
Each name reflects the soul of our brand—a fusion of timeless elegance and conscious craftsmanship.
Production.
We take pride in producing locally, partnering with trusted sewing studios. Our main production hub is U+N Studio in Jahnsdorf, complemented by small-batch production in Berlin at Faktura, a workspace supporting individuals with health conditions or impairments.
Our materials come from esteemed European suppliers like Steiner 1888, a renowned Austrian textile manufacturer, and Mehler, a Bavarian family business with deep-rooted expertise. We’re always on the lookout for new fabrics and creative collaborations—just like with Pontiki, crafted from premium deadstock fabrics discovered at Fabrichouse, transforming overlooked materials into something new and meaningful.
